After our adventures in KL we boarded a bus and headed down to the "Venice of the East" - Malacca.
Our first point of call was breakfast. The only real concern we had about eating purely Asian food for 6 months was what are we going to eat for breakfast?!
Breakfast is a big deal for Malaysians - they all go out to their local road side food stalls and eat Nasi Lamak - a sticky coconut rice dish served with peanuts, an egg, cucumber pieces, small fried fish and a spicy sambal.
We weren't quite ready to delve directly into this for breakfast just yet but lucky for us the local stall made killer omelettes with tomato, onion and chillis with a massive side of chilli sambal all for 4 Ringgit (about $1.25).
We also quickly learned that the coffee (KOFE) here is served STRONG and SWEET. After a few attempts at ordering we learned that black coffee was best for us - if you dont ask for no sugar it will come with at least 3 teaspoons and if you ask for milk it will be condensed milk.
One of these in the morning is sure to wake you up!
